What a f****n joke that clock is. It's pathetic, the clock in my school dinner hall was bigger than that. In no shape or form is that a memorial to Jeff Hall. I think the whole thing was just an attempt to shut the fans up with no real sentiment behind it anyway, and that has just proved me right i think. Take it down FFS |

Herein lye’s the mistake….. Looks to me as though it was ordered to fit between the lettering (not obscure the C in City and F in Football). Doesn’t matter what anyone says it’s a simple fact that the involvement of a MD or chairman would have been simply to give the idea the green light. They don’t get involved with every single action within a company, that’s what the likes of us are for, the employee’s. Doesn’t excuse them saying, is that big enough? They may have even asked that and got the answer ‘yes’, who knows? |

I was thinking that they could put it above the players tunnel and make it pretty darn big in the process. At least that will allow some of the main stand and the tilton to see it clearer. Although I'm not complaining, especially as they listened to us and did something about it. |

If the board wanted to put the clock in a place where most of the ground could see then I think there are 2 better possibilites: 1) On the front of the Olympic Gallery where the camera man sits when the games are live on Sky. Here, they could also put a matrix scoreboard (if my doctors surgery can afford to buy one then surely Blues can!). 2) Mount a scoreboard like the old Ansells one which sat over in the corner between the old Kop and Railway Stand but the big clock in the middle which showed how long of the game was gone could have been the Jeff Hall Clock. I know they couldn't get planning permission for the big screen in 2006 (The City Council seems to hate us! WHy Villa have got a screen and we can't is beyond me!) but surely either of the above options could have been granted? |

Villa had their Big Screen around 1990, probably didn't need planning permission then. :D |

That lump of !"£$ as you put it is part of the clubs heritage. Hundreds of thousands of Blues fans (Many that are no longer with us) have sat in that stand; thousands of games have been enjoyed by fans from the mainstand and still do so today. The Stand is a nostalgic reminder of the old ground before it was rebuilt I for one love the mainstand and have my season ticket there. You would do well to take the time to have a seat in the mainstand for a game and learn to appreciate a bit of the clubs history. The view is excellent the atmosphere has not changed in the mainstand for years, unlike the rest of the ground. I for one will be sad when the day comes when it is knocked down and rebuilt. As for the clock well you can’t see it anyway from the mainstand, it should have gone in the cop railway corner were it was originally. |

The main stand is a superb place to sit when it's freezing cold. It is a great shelter from the elements and throws out warmth from somewhere - probably the refreshments etc below. No, there are always a couple of occasions when we sit in the mainstand. |

Got to agree, I love the Main Stand too. I had a season ticket there for many years right next to the Press Box until I moved over to the Kop Corner to sit with mates. Great view right on the half way line, a lot warmer than sitting in the Kop or Tilton and when you can't see the Main Stand cos you're sitting in it, the rest of the stadium looks fantastic :D |

Two points. The board would never in a month of Sundays get involved in something like this, beyond paying for it. Blues is a multi-million concern and to expect the board to be involved in details like this is barmy like. They do not have the time or nor expertise.Thats what CEO's are for, and they delegate, they don't go round and order it. As Willie said, it is a replacement foor the original - sited in an appropriate place. That whoever was responsible for the logistics should have checked the visual viability beforehand - but I would bet my son's inheritance that it was not the Board or the CEO involved. Staff do that. The other point, do you think the board have reacted because of letters and emails of complaint? As if... How many such complaints would they have received about prices or catering, and how did they respond? How long before people start assuming the board was behind the Walsall-Gate emails? I'm all for getting rid of them, but lets hang them for the right reasons . (man) :D |
